LED light strips can be cut to length, but only at the designated cutting points built into the PCB. These cut marks separate electrical segments so the remaining strip can continue operating normally. Cutting between the marked positions may interrupt the circuit, damage LEDs, or prevent part of the strip from lighting correctly. The minimum cutting length is determined during circuit design. A 12V strip, 24V strip, high-voltage strip, and RGBIC strip may all use different segment structures.

After disconnecting power, cut directly through the marked line and keep the copper pads intact. The new section can then be connected through compatible connectors or soldered wires.
For RGB and RGBIC products, pin definitions and data direction must also match. Cutting an addressable strip at the wrong point may interrupt both power distribution and control signals.
Waterproof products require additional attention. Cutting through the original encapsulation opens the waterproof structure, so end caps, sealing material, connectors, and cable exits must be resealed before outdoor installation.
